If horse racing is the sport of kings, then America's Cup is the sandlot of billionaires. It takes a minimum of fifty million dollars U.S. to be a serious contender. An Italian syndicate once spent
over three hundred million on a single campaign.
We had all the bells and whistles going on this site. From a live race viewer, automated weather reports and daily chronicles. This was my first assignment as a Senior Designer for a large website. Along with managing a couple of other designers, I designed the overall look and feel of the site. I was also a daily contributor of interactive chronicles.
Best line after the fourth cancellation of a race due to rainy weather:
"Yep, it'd be a damn shame if one of those boats got wet or anything."
